These Terms of Service (the “Terms”) govern your use of FoodsTT as a customer. FoodsTT is a restaurant and food discovery platform operated by Sovereign Digital Solutions Limited for Trinidad & Tobago. By creating an account, placing an Order Request, or otherwise using FoodsTT, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.
1. Who can use FoodsTT and identity verification
FoodsTT uses SOV ID, the central identity system for Sovereign Digital Solutions Limited platforms, to verify who you are. When you sign up for FoodsTT, a SOV ID is created for you automatically in the background and linked to your FoodsTT account, so you can use the same verified identity across participating platforms without repeating verification.
Browsing restaurants and menus only requires a basic account. To place an Order Request, you must complete Level 2 verification — verification of your Trinidad & Tobago National ID specifically (a driver’s licence is not accepted for this level). This protects restaurants from fake and abusive orders. FoodsTT stores only a reference to your SOV ID and your verification status; it does not keep a copy of your National ID image or number. Enhanced verification (Level 3) is used only for high-value financial activity on other Sovereign Digital Solutions Limited services and is not required for normal food ordering.
2. Order Requests, not online payment (V1)
FoodsTT has not yet enabled online card payment. In this first version of the service, ordering works through Order Requests. You build your cart and send a request to the restaurant. No money is charged or collected through FoodsTT at this stage. You pay the restaurant directly at pickup, using whatever payment method it normally accepts at its own register. Prices shown are the restaurant’s own prices in Trinidad & Tobago dollars (TTD).
3. How an order is confirmed
After you send an Order Request, the restaurant reviews it and either accepts or rejects it. If the restaurant accepts, you receive a final confirmation prompt showing your order, the total, and the approximate time it will be ready. This is your last chance to make changes or cancel before the kitchen starts.
The restaurant does not begin preparing your food until you tap “Confirm Order” on that screen. If you choose “Make Changes”, your revised request goes back to the restaurant to accept again, and you confirm again. Only after you confirm is the order finalized for preparation.
4. Your responsibility after you confirm
Once you confirm, you are asking the restaurant to cook real food for you and it may begin immediately. You are responsible for collecting and paying for that order within the pickup window. Cancelling after you have confirmed, or failing to collect, has consequences for your FoodsTT account standing, because it wastes food, time, and money for a local business.
5. Cancellations and no-shows
You may cancel freely before the restaurant accepts, and freely after it accepts but before your final confirmation. After you confirm and preparation begins, a cancellation reduces your reputation points. If the order has already been marked Ready, the reduction is larger. The strongest penalty applies to a confirmed no-show.
A no-show is never recorded automatically just because time passed. The order must have been accepted, confirmed by you, prepared and marked Ready, the pickup window must have passed, and the restaurant must manually confirm that you did not collect. If the restaurant caused the problem — it cancelled, changed your order materially, or was significantly late — you carry no penalty. The full details are in our Cancellation & No-Show Policy.
6. Reputation points
FoodsTT keeps a reputation score for each customer rather than relying only on penalties. Completing orders, confirming promptly, collecting on time, leaving useful reviews, and ordering reliably over time all reflect positively. Late cancellations after confirmation, confirmed no-shows, repeated failure to collect, and abuse or fraud reduce your score. Good standing keeps your account healthy and can unlock perks over time.
7. Ordering restrictions, suspensions, and appeals
If your reputation falls below certain thresholds, your ability to place Order Requests may be temporarily suspended — for example a shorter timeout at one threshold and a longer one at a lower threshold. Persistent serious abuse or fraud can lead to an ordering ban tied to your verified SOV ID. Exact thresholds will be tuned with real usage data after launch.
Any penalty can be appealed. When a no-show or restriction is recorded, you receive a notification and an Appeal button. An administrator can review the evidence, reverse the decision, restore your points, and lift or reduce the restriction. A restaurant can also waive a penalty where circumstances justify it.
8. Pickup: QR code and PIN
Every confirmed order gets a unique secure QR code, a human-readable order number, and a 6-digit backup pickup PIN. At the counter you show your QR code, which the restaurant scans to verify the order; if scanning is not possible, the order number and 6-digit PIN can be used instead. The QR code contains only a random, secure token — it never embeds your National ID or other sensitive details — and it expires once the order is completed or cancelled. You do not need an internet connection at pickup if your QR code, order number, or PIN is saved or screenshotted on your device. Scanning your code proves you arrived; the restaurant then taps “Handed Over” when it physically gives you the food.
9. What you cannot order in V1
Alcohol and other regulated or age-restricted goods are not orderable through FoodsTT in this first version. Order Requests are for food and permitted menu items only.
10. Acceptance and changes to these Terms
When you accept these Terms — at signup and when you place an Order Request — we record which version you accepted together with the date and time. The current version is 2026-08-25. If we make substantive changes, we update the version and may ask you to accept again. Continuing to use FoodsTT after an update means you accept the current Terms.
